I’m Henry, a long time watch enthusiast, and unending collector. I began the site in 2018 as a way to share my research and subsequent knowledge as I grow my watch collection.
My interest in watches began as a teenager in the mid-1980’s with the introduction of Swatch watches. Keep in mind that the original Swatch watches were the fashion of the day in the mid to late 80’s. Throughout the 80’s I acquired a few silicone banded Swatches and wore them religiously.
In the early 90’s I was stationed in Germany and in the latter part of my enlistment in the US Air Force. While on leave, I took a trip to Switzerland and toured through Interlaken and Geneva. I visited many watch stores and museums which fueled my desire for a Swiss timepiece. I did not buy my first “Swiss” watch until Swatch rolled out the Irony line of watches in 1993. I treated my first Irony pretty harsh and broke the plastic crystal. For a few years, I moved on to Casio divers. I returned to Irony in 2000 buying a Swatch Irony Cool Days. I still have this watch and it runs like a dream after 18 years.
Since 2000, I’ve been busy traveling the world, marrying my beautiful wife, building a career and, raising three boys. In the last few years, I’ve been building a collection and learning as much as I can about watches.
